Structural Technician

Job Description

Trinity Solar, one of the nation’s leading residential solar companies, is looking for a Structural Technician to bring skilled craftsmanship and problem-solving expertise to our solar installation operations. 

This is a hands-on role where you’ll help ensure homes are structurally ready for solar installations by performing repairs, upgrades, and construction-related work. You’ll assess project sites, make framing and roofing improvements, repair leaks, and complete siding and drywall work while maintaining a high standard of quality, safety, and professionalism.

Compensation: $26 - $31 / hour 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assess project sites, take accurate measurements, and prepare for structural and installation needs. 
  • Perform structural improvements, including framing, sistering rafters, and other construction-related modifications. 
  • Diagnose and repair roof leaks quickly and effectively. 
  • Perform home repairs associated with solar installations, including siding, drywall, and other general construction work. 
  • Use standard carpentry, roofing, and construction tools safely and effectively. 
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers while working on-site. 
  • Document completed work thoroughly, including required photos, project details, and reports. 
  • Submit all required documentation accurately and on time. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite throughout the workday. 
  • Maintain company vehicle standards and ensure tools and equipment are properly cared for and secured. 
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. 
  • Assist with additional construction, repair, and installation-related tasks as needed. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Solid foundation in carpentry and roofing, with hands-on experience using standard construction tools. 
  • Ability and willingness to perform a variety of construction, repair, and maintenance tasks. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess jobsite conditions and determine appropriate solutions. 
  • Comfortable working at heights and on roofs for extended periods of time. 
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. 
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a strong attendance record. 
  • Professional and courteous communication skills, particularly when interacting with customers on-site. 
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. 
  • Ability to lift and carry 40–50 pounds regularly. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) check. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Experience in carpentry, roofing, residential construction, or a related skilled trade preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience performing structural repairs, roofing work, or residential construction is preferred. 
  • Equivalent combination of training and practical experience may be considered. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work outdoors and on residential jobsites in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to work at heights and on roofs for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces as required. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40–50 pounds regularly. 
  • Must be able to operate a company vehicle safely and maintain required driving standards.
