Trenching Technician – Solar
Job Summary
Trinity Solar is looking for a Trenching Technician to support residential solar installations by safely operating trenching equipment, installing underground conduit and wiring, and restoring job sites to original condition. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, code-compliant solar system installations while maintaining high-quality property restoration standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate trenching equipment (e.g., Ditch Witch) to dig trenches for solar electrical runs
- Open, backfill, and compact trenches in residential and commercial environments
- Install electrical conduit and wiring in trenches according to company and local code requirements
- Cut and repair concrete and asphalt surfaces as needed
- Restore disturbed areas, including lawn repair (shoveling, raking, grading, and laying grass seed)
- Work closely with installation crews to ensure timelines and quality standards are met
- Maintain tools, equipment, and job sites in a safe and organized manner
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
Qualifications
- Experience operating trenching equipment (Ditch Witch or similar) preferred
- Construction, utility, or solar industry experience a plus
- Ability to read basic site plans or installation instructions
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in site restoration quality
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
